Pamela Abbott


Pamela Abbott is a senior lecturer in information systems at the Information School, University of Sheffield. She has played a pivotal role in the LIBSENSE initiative, which fosters collaboration between libraries and National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) to promote open science in Africa. She has co-authored publications discussing the project’s genesis and impact on enabling open science in Western and Central Africa. As a research lead on LIBSENSE, she has facilitated workshops and discussions to advance research data management practices, open science policy development, and institutional engagement with African libraries and research communities. These activities have significantly contributed to advancing digital services and research collaborations in African higher education institutions.
