Monique Christian-Long
Monique Christian-Long serves as the director of Organizational Effectiveness & Inclusion at SMU Libraries, where she integrates organizational development, human resources, and business operations with equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) initiatives. With over a decade of experience in both public and academic libraries, she has held various leadership positions, including leading equity and social justice teams, managing grant-funded projects, and collaborating with community organizations to develop inclusive programs.
Currently pursuing an EdD in higher education, Monique also holds a master’s in library science, specializing in archives and records management, from North Carolina Central University, and a bachelor of arts in nonprofit and public administration from the University of Toledo. She was named an American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leader in 2022 and received the ALA Spectrum Scholarship in 2020. Monique is deeply committed to fostering inclusive excellence by connecting people to information and cultivating diverse learning environments.
