Maryam Sayab
Maryam Sayab is the executive director, communications and global engagement at the Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE). In this role, she leads ACSE’s strategic communications, international partnerships, and community-driven programs aimed at strengthening research integrity, advancing ethical publishing, and fostering collaboration among editors, librarians, researchers, and publishers across Asia and beyond.
Maryam also serves as co-chair of Peer Review Week, contributing to global conversations on innovation, transparency, and accountability in peer review. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to bridging international publishing standards with the diverse realities faced by regional and underrepresented research communities.
In addition, she is a contributor to The Scholarly Kitchen, where she writes on scholarly communication, open science, research integrity, and the evolving dynamics of the global publishing ecosystem. Through her leadership and writing, she advocates for more inclusive, responsible, and trust-centered approaches to scientific communication.
