Jenny Townes


Jenny Townes joined the Emory University Libraries Scholarly Communications Office in 2022 as the open access librarian. In this capacity Jenny leads open access outreach, advocacy, and educational services, specifically focused on all aspects of open educational practices and two of the university’s open access repositories. She earned an MSLS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and spent ten years working at different academic libraries in the Research Triangle before coming to Georgia. Jenny’s research interests are the language of open, institutional repositories, and open educational resources. Outside of academia, Jenny is an accomplished artist, enthusiastic knitter, and feline wrangler.
